4 fun summer events coming to nashville in 2017

2018 Jeep Wrangler Front Red Exterior

The release date for the much-hyped 2018 Dodge Demon edges nearer with each passing day. This ultra-powerful sports car promises to be one of the most exciting cars released in this segment for years. Discover the lowdown on these three amazing performance features of the 2018 Dodge Demon.

engine

The Dodge Demon comes with an engine that apparently tops the already mega-powerful engine that comes with the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Expect an engine that offers more than 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet torque, which are the power ratings of the already mind-blowingly blistering 6.2-liter V8 offered with the Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

Strong rumors emanating from industry analysts speculate that the engine included with the Dodge Demon will also be a 6.2-liter V8. For the Dodge Demon, though, the manufacturer updates the engine to draw more power from it. Expect to get power ratings of an amazing 815 horsepower and 715 pound-feet of torque. This engine offers unparalleled power, and it comes with an available eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

tires

The threadbare tires on the 2018 Dodge Demon is one particularly controversial topic and an impressive aspect that adds to the performance of this sports car. The standard tires with the Dodge Demon are drag radials, which come with the bare minimum tread grooves allowed for road use by the Department of Transport.

The inclusion of drag radials means that the Dodge Demon is the first ever production car to come with drag radials as standard on the wheels. The specialized engineering of the tires sees a customized race compound used in addition to a huge contact patch, which improves your traction on the road while ensuring an evenly distributed weight across the entire tread of each tire.

speed

When considering just how well the Dodge Demon performs, it helps to look at some numbers to give you a real sense of just what this vehicle can do. Take the traditional barometer of a motor’s vehicle’s speed, the zero to 60 mph test, for example. Driving with the amazingly powerful V8 engine in the Dodge Demon, you’ll speed up from zero to 60 mph in an almost inconceivable 2.3 seconds. Taking things further to the quarter-mile test, the Dodge Demon drives a quarter-mile run in just 9.65 seconds. This sports car provides speed at a level never seen before in a production motor vehicle with a V8 engine.

lightweight

The heavier a vehicle is, the worse it performs in terms of speed and power. That’s exactly why Dodge removed so many of the normal features that come with a sports car to get maximum performance from the Dodge Demon. Dodge trimmed 58 pounds from the Demon just by removing the front passenger seat and belt. The company shredded another 55 pounds from the weight by removing the rear seat, belts, and restraints. The addition of the drag radials further reduced weight by 15 pounds.

The end result is an incredibly lightweight sports car that works with all other performance elements to produce searing speeds.

The 2018 Dodge Demon promises to be a sports car for the ages and a must-have for serious sports car fans.
